The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) can verify here whether the phone is original or tampered with the phone IMEI number you want to take from the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal to track lost or stolen phones.

This can be checked as follows

• First go to the CEIR portal
• Go into the application on the main page here
• Here you will get two options namely Know Your Mobile APP and IMEI Verification.
• Of these, select two option called IMEI Verification
• Enter your mobile number here and get the OTP
• Enter the OTP you received
• Enter the image number in the box you specified for IMEI here
• If you do not know the IMEI number of the phone you want to take, you can find out with * # 06 #
•  Finally, as soon as you enter and submit the IMEI, you will be provided with the States details.
