Due to the non-payment of these bills on time, they accumulated heavily. With this, the government announced a huge discount on December 28, giving them relief. With this, motorists who have a large amount of challan fines are happy to get the opportunity to pay the fine with a discount. As this discount offer is only till 10th of this month, motorists are showing interest in paying the dues. The government has made it possible to pay this challan online as well as at Mee Seva and Ee Seva Kendras. About 2 lakh motorists will benefit from this bumper offer announced by the government. They were fined for violating rules like not wearing a helmet, driving while talking on a cell phone, driving a vehicle without a driver's license, number plate, triple riding on two-wheelers, not having insurance, jumping the traffic signal, driving a vehicle on the wrong route, etc. All of them are expressing happiness as they got the opportunity to pay the dues with concession.

A huge discount has been announced on the payment of pending traffic challans in the wake of the New Year. This announcement brought some relief to motorists. Police officials said that they have provided an opportunity to pay pending challans online from December 26 to 10 of this month. They have announced 80 percent discount for two/three wheeler motorists, 60 percent for cars and heavy vehicles, and 90 percent for RTC vehicles. He said that this discount is applicable only to those who pay the challans within the specified period.
Dues of more than Rs. 14.15 crores across the district.
The police have registered cases against 3,34,644 motorists who are driving their vehicles in violation of the rules across the district. The police have found that there are more than Rs.14.15 crores in fine arrears as of December 27. From this to the end of December, about 35 percent of the fine has been collected, police sources revealed.
Payment of ongoing fines
With the government announcing a discount offer, motorists are coming forward to pay pending fines. Police sources said that till the 8th of this month, pending challans of around Rs.3 crore have been collected across the district. District-wide e-challan fines will be up to another Rs 6 crore.
