Sideloaded Apps Are Apps Installed From Sources Other Than the Official Google Play Store
For the safety of Android users, the tech giant Google regularly upgrades its privacy policies to be more strict. Recently, this company is adopting its own policy on how to handle sideloaded apps in Android phones. Sideloaded apps are apps installed from sources other than the official Google Play Store. That is, those installed from third-party app stores or downloaded APK files. In this regard, Google hopes to start the implementation of the new policy from India.

Of course, Android users have complete freedom to sideload apps, but Google always warns about the dangers of malware or security breaches. Now Google plans to use the Play Protect feature to scan sideloaded apps, monitor them, and notify users whether they are safe or not.

Play Protect is a built-in security service. It scans the apps on the device including the Play Store to detect any malicious virus or activity. Google will use data analysis and code-level screening to determine whether sideloaded apps contain malicious code. This new initiative will be launched in India first. That's because most Android users in India rely on alternative app stores or download apps directly from the internet.

* Ease of installation

By scanning sideloaded apps, Google hopes to prevent the spread of malware and protect users' privacy and data. Google also wants to ensure that Android users have the freedom to install apps from any source, as long as they meet Google's security standards.

* Previously ignored by Google

Google had a different stance on sideloaded apps in the past. Just warning users and acting like you are responsible for all actions. Even if sideloaded apps violate Google policies or contain malicious code, Google will not scan or block them.

Google said earlier this year that it would only warn users who install apps from various app stores, stop or scan them. But Google's latest policy on sideloaded apps will not only protect Android users but also provide a safe user experience across different app sources.
