As the Vande Bharat trains are well received, the Railway Department is trying to launch the Vande Bharat sleeper trains soon. These Vande Bharat sleeper trains are likely to be launched in February 2024. Integral Coach Factory (ICF) GM BG Mallya said that the features of Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be amazing like no other train in the history of Indian Railways. Mallya said that these will change the address for world class travel on Indian Railways.

It is known that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently released the concept photos of the first prototype of the Vande Bharat Sleeper, which is being manufactured by the public sector company BEML in association with ICF.

Mallya said that the interior of Vande Bharat sleeper trains has not been seen in any train in our country till now. He said that the interior will make you feel wow when you step into the train carriage. Vande Bharat sleeper train will have an excellent ambience. Passengers will have convenient features. He said that the new Vande Bharat sleeper trains will have 16 coaches, 11 of which will be AC-3 tier, 4 will be AC-2 tier and one will be a first class coach.

Sleeper trains have all the features like AC, automatic doors, inter-communication doors, vacuum toilets, as in Vande Bharat trains. The atmosphere inside is very good. The ICF GM said that these trains will have soft lighting and a suitable ladder for passengers to climb to the upper berths.

BEML will manufacture 100 Bharat Sleeper trains in collaboration with ICF. Mallya said that the designing was done jointly by ICF and BEML. While ICF will supply the propulsion for these trains, BEML will assemble it.

While the Titagarh-BHEL consortium will manufacture 80 Vande Bharat sleeper trains at ICF, RVNL-TMH has bagged the contract to manufacture 120 Vande Bharat sleeper trains.
