Microsoft chief Bill Gates has showered praise on India. Bill Gates said that if you want to study a country other than China right now it is definitely Indian. He opined that India's policies on economic innovation and inclusive growth were very good. He specifically mentioned the increase in digital payments, especially after the abolition of banknotes. Bill Gates said the policies would make government aid easier for the poor and reduce the cost of distribution. He said his foundation is currently working to develop similar open source technologies in various countries like India.
He lauded the innovations in India. The UPI platform has made digital payments much easier. Companies like Paytm, Amazon, Facebook and Walmart are using this UPI platform. Gates said India stands as an example to the rest of the world in this regard. It is now believed that similar discoveries could be very useful in the distribution of the corona virus vaccine. He said that rich countries should not have control over the vaccine and that they were working with vaccine manufacturers in different countries to ensure that it was available to the people of all countries. They also revealed that they are in talks with the Serum Institute of India in India.
