All the facilities will be provided on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) e-ticketing website for ease of booking for passengers from Indian Railways. Union Minister Piyush Goyal has given this information on Friday. An official statement said that Indian Railways is working to increase the user personalization and facilities of its e-ticketing website.
Also, it has been said in the press release that the Union Railway Industry and Commerce Minister has taken stock of the upgrade process of the e-ticketing system. It is evident that the IRCTC ticketing website of Indian Railways provides the facility of online ticket reservation, which is used by most people for the needs of train travel run on IR.
It was further written in the release that from 2014 onwards, along with improving public experience in booking tickets, emphasis is also being laid on travel conventions. According to the Union Minister, the IRCTC website is the first medium to contact people traveling with railways, so it should be user friendly and convenient.
Under Digital India, more and more people are now moving towards booking tickets online instead of going to the reservation counters and hence need to double their efforts to continuously update the IRCTC website.
Please tell that IRCTC, a unit of Indian Railways, has made its place in the list of Fortune India 500. IRCT has captured 447th position in this list for the first time. Actually, IRCTC is performing very well as a company along with providing better facilities to the passengers. The special thing is that in this year IRCT has made much higher profit than before and the company has earned 71.30 percent more profit than last year.
