The Indian Newspapers Association insists that Google should pay us compensation. Inspired by the new legislation brought by the Australian government, it is open to demand. The Indian Newspapers Society (INS) is demanding 85 per cent of the Google ad revenue used for its content.
The Society has over a thousand journals registered across the country. Google uses the news it collects to pay thousands of journalists. Therefore .. the society has clearly said that they should be compensated. A few days ago the Australian government brought in a new law requiring people to pay money for using the news.
Inspired by Australia, Indian newspapers have also been providing Google with credible information that they have been collecting at great expense, the INS said in a statement. Newspapers around the world have been demanding Google to contribute to this for over a year.
Meanwhile, Google has also agreed to pay compensation in France, the European Union and Australia. He accused magazines of relying primarily on ads, but of Google taking a majority stake in the digital space and harming themselves.
